OTK Shopfitters are a well-established, West Midlands based Shopfitting company specialising in the design and creation of custom bespoke interiors for organisations spanning multiple sectors.  Due to the competitive nature of this industry OTK Shopfitters requested our support to create an online presence, to implement corporate email for all employees, allow employees to retrieve and upload files remotely. It was a request to use IT to remain competitive.

After review of existing Business processes and IT setup it was clear that modernisation and mobility were fundamentally lacking. Such requirements were key to remain competitive.

We implemented a web site and social media portals to create an appealing and informative on-line presence. We also for employees implemented enterprise network, file sharing ability, email and mobility. This was supported by training and handover.

Due to IT modernisation, internet presence and enabling of connectivity and mobility OTK Shopfitters were able to retain market share and competitive edge. Employees were able to real time communicate with colleagues in secure and robust manner, upload and retrieve files and maintain corporate presence on the internet. The on line presence attracts an increasing customer base who are able to view ahead of making contact portfolios of completed projects, learn about their approach and delivery. Furthermore surveyors visiting customers at site are now able to create and submit quotations real time by making use of connected devices and corporate email. Back office staff are able to track quotations, remittances and invoices as all are now centrally stored in local repository.

Background

UWT head office due to rapid recent growth (40 employees) began to struggle with its operations and business processes. Challenges faced included no up-to-date knowledge of IT Setup, increased stain on file storage, no failover for Server based applications, no standard build and infrastructure with multiple vulnerabilities and a commitment to secure donor bank details in line with Charity’s Commission legislation.

Our Business Solution

Our first action was to conduct a site audit, identifying and defining end points, assets connected, and IP ranges. This was then provided to UWT as an initial product subject to further consultation. We then continued to work with UWT to understand and capture current and future requirements, current IT issues and business processes requiring IT support. It was mandated to us to create a proposal which would address all current and future requirements, a proposal which was both robust and scalable. The proposal also included annual consultation and Support offering via ticketing.

As a result of audit and Network design provided UWT was able to understand better their current setup, cause of constraints and vulnerabilities. UWT have a very small internal IT team so they leveraged our expertise and allowed us to perform also vendor management function, interfacing with hardware and software vendors. We were also able to design an IT infrastructure which met their current and future requirements. This was a slight challenge as UWT had allocated a limited budget, furthermore had already committed to a particular hardware setup. Bizserv was able to provide a design which leveraged virtualisation technology delivering cost saving, resilience and failover.

Background

Due to growth and increase in head count Ensure Cover began to struggle with   Network bandwidth, organisational file structure and end point security. Due to nature of Insurance business Ensure Cover has a corporate responsivity to act within the Data protection Act ensuring all files are secure. Ensure Covers office premises had no Wi-Fi, little network Security and a supported by an outdated design.

Our Business Solution

During consultation Bizserv proposed a network audit, requirements for future growth, design and installation of Wireless Network, with multiple Wi-Fi hotspots as well as access control policies to demarcate and segment as per requirements areas of the network to allow for safeguarding of client records. Bizserv support this project with initially securing a leased line with local provider providing most suitable scalable service. Bizserv also took opportunity and responsibility to re-wire the office premises and enhancing the LAN Network and capability. Once design was agreed Cisco routers and Cisco Access points were installed and configured.  All work was conducted as per request of client OOH. The solution was handed over with training of local champion and a Support Plan with SLA backed ticketing.

Ensure cover is now able to offer its workforce a modern Wi-Fi enabled workspace. This allows employees to BYOD, connect seamlessly throughout the office premises, to hot-desk and operate within a secure environment. Bizserv also implemented guest Wi-Fi access with reduced privileges and access allowing for guest at Ensurecover to get on line, connect to their corporate networks whilst being restricted from Ensure Cover internal network.

Background

Due to rapid increase in amount of locally stored electronic files and requirements to safeguard these against theft and loss Lewis and Co decided to increase their investment in IT, to ensure they could continue to grow and at the same time safeguard and provide easy access to clients and in-house council to client files and records. Also to support external Audit activities such files and records required access via a shared and secured intranet repository.

During initial consultation Bizserv were able to understand current Business problems faced as well as future IT aspirations, Bizserv was given an overview of the Business, its structure and constraints to growth. Initial service offering was an IT Site Audit identifying areas for improvement and security vulnerabilities followed by a design for an uplifted and enhanced IT Infrastructure. This design allowed for future growth, cost saving by virtualising server requirements and reducing need to purchase further dedicated servers, finally additional network security was achieved.
